Sounds From The Patio

Just outside our back door is a decent-size green area with picnic tables, a putting green, etc. I normally have my morning coffee out there and today a new bird came in like gang-busters and announced himself to the world, very loudly “hey laaaadiiiieeees!”. I didn’t get his most vocal performance recorded, but you can hear some.

He only stuck around for about 30 minutes. I guess he didn’t find the hook-up he was hoping for.

UPDATE: This guy is an Asian Koel, which is a member of the cuckoo order:

From wiki:

The Asian Koel is a brood parasite, and lays its single egg in the nests of a variety of birds, including the Jungle Crow, and House Crow. In Sri Lanka before 1880 it was only known to parasitize the Jungle Crow, later shifting to the House Crow. A study in India found 5% of Corvus splendens and 0.5% of Corvus macrorhynchos nests parasitized.
