Staging The House

The real estate agent had several recommendations for staging our house:

• Remove all personal pictures
• Remove all clutter
• Touch-up all walls and carpets

That was pretty much the jist of it. Unfortunately, one of the more specific recommendations was to remove this book shelf entirely. Not because of its contents, but because of its location. But we really love this book shelf!

Oh well, it’s more important at this point to sell the house than to see this bookshelf daily for the next few weeks. So it’s going away today.

I failed to get a before-and-after shot of hour picture hallway! It had over two dozen personal pictures lining it and they’re all down and holes all filled and painted. The house is losing it’s personal feel!

The movers were out yesterday as well and here are their generic recommendations (we’ll get more once a mover has been chosen):

• No aeresols
• No flammable liquids
• The shipping container will be x-rayed so bottles of liquor will be found
• Excise tax on liquor is $88/liter (WTF!)
